Whether you’re just starting out or seeking deeper insight, our astronomy workshops in South Africa are designed to inspire and empower.
This is where your journey begins – not with the stars, but with the tools that bring them closer
Get to Know Your Telescope | Confidence begins with connection.
Before the stars can speak, your telescope must listen. Our telescope training for beginners begins with the fundamentals:
Understanding Your Equipment
Learn the anatomy of your telescope – mount types, eyepieces, finder scopes, and how they work together. Whether you’re using a Dobsonian telescope, a refractor, or a GoTo mount, we help you understand your gear with clarity.
What to Expect
Hosted in the privacy of your own home
The session starts with unboxing if you haven’t done so already. Assembly and accessories are discussed, followed by startup and alignment procedures tailored to your telescope type. These hands – on telescope coaching sessions typically run for about 2 hours, or until you can successfully start and align your telescope.
We also offer a WhatsApp support service and are always available for tips and advice on telescope use.
Precision Alignment
Master the art of star calibration, polar alignment, and balancing for smooth, accurate tracking; essential skills for successful stargazing.
Hands – On Setup
We guide you through setup with care, ensuring your telescope is ready for night sky navigation and deep-sky exploration.
Troubleshooting with Ease
Gain the confidence to diagnose common issues and fine – tune your gear for optimal performance. Our telescope troubleshooting guide is built from years of hands-on experience.

Note on the Weather
Clear skies are essential for successful telescope alignment and calibration. We recommend having alternative dates ready when booking, as haze or cloud cover may affect the session. Visibility of stars is required; especially for computerized models like the Celestron Nexstar and the push to Celestron Starsense Explorer series, as well as manual and automatic telescopes from other brands.
