When is the best time to Stargaze
Stargazing can be enjoyed year-round, but weather conditions play a crucial role. In the northern regions of Southern Africa, the optimal time for stargazing is during the winter months, from May to August.
Summer stargazing is more weather-dependent, particularly during the rainy season, which can occur anytime from October to March.
We continually monitor the weather and will advise you on the best times when you make a booking. It’s wise to have an alternative date in mind, especially during the summer months.
Who Can Stargaze?
Our stargazing experiences are ideal for individuals, couples, families, and small groups. The 2-hour private sessions are perfect for children aged 7 and above, although all children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Where Do We Host Our Stargazing Evenings/Night Sky Tours?
Locations in and Around Johannesburg: We provide easy-to-find locations and will send you a pin when your booking is confirmed. Exciting new venue will be available from May 2025, bookings are open!
At Your Home: We bring the stargazing experience to your garden, or you can book an evening at our residence, which accommodates up to 6 people for an unforgettable night under the stars.

When Can You Book a Stargazing Experience?
Book your stargazing experience on a weeknight or weekend night. Check our booking calendar for available dates. Due to high demand, it’s best to book in advance. We also offer guidance on the best times to observe specific celestial objects based on weather conditions.

What If the Weather Doesn’t Cooperate?
Weather can affect stargazing plans. We recommend having alternative dates in mind. If conditions aren’t favorable on your chosen date, we’ll suggest another. We confirm the weather situation 24-48 hours before your booking.
How Much Does a Stargazing Experience/ Night Sky Tour Cost for your friends or family?
- Stargazing Evening at Your Home/ Garden: R2250.00 maximum 10 guests, for 2 hours (often extends to about 3 hours).
- Observation Deck North Riding: R2250.00 maximum 10 guests, for 2 hours (often extends to about 3 hours).

All Stargazing Experiences depend on weather conditions, with updates provided 24-48 hours before your booking.
